Coach Joe Hunter

Coach Joe Hunter begins his fifth year with Castle Athletics and, each year, he has displayed veteran leadership and a command for implementing organizational structure, culture, and discipline.  This past year, through such dedication and development, Coach Hunter led his charges to National Championships on the Puma NXT Circuit and the Zero Gravity Circuit, consistently beating national powers and culminating in his Castle Boys 13U and 14U teams being ranked in the Top 10 nationally.  Castle’s Boys 13U being ranked #12 in the country 2023-24 season.  This is nothing new for Coach Hunter as he has traditionally been known for being developmentally-minded, very structured, hard-nosed, and up-tempo with a New York style and flare. Indeed, Coach Hunter has been involved in NYC hoops for years, including a period of leading Wadleigh High School through the PSAL and becoming a powerhouse.   This passion for helping inner-city youth will only further the development of Castle Athletics into the top program in New York State.
