Castle Starts the Spring Season and Picks Up a Chip

announced March 16, 2015

The Castle middle school-aged teams started their Spring season at the March Madness tournament at Ramapo College this past weekend, with the Boys 13U team coming home with a championship. The team was led by Brian Moore who averaged 14 points a game. Coach Richie Parker was thrilled with the result. "We have just come together as a team, with relatively few practices. It was exciting to see the boys play so hard and so well together at this early stage."

The Boys 11U team did very well also, sweeping two games to get into the finals, but going down by 4 there. The Boys 12U team narrowly lost two games while the Boys 14U team worked out the kinks in their first game and ran over Riverside Church in their second game.

The Girls 12U team also got underway, suffering two very close losses. Even so, Coach Jeffries was satisfied. "Tryouts just ended and we are integrating new players into our system. Things take time but we all stayed positive."

Teams continue play this weekend at the Hoop Group Spring Jr. Jam Fest and the March Showdown tournaments.
