Rudy King Joins Castle Coaching Staff

Castle Athletics announced today that Rudy King, currently Assistant Head Coach of Monsignor Scanlan High School’s Boys’ Varsity Basketball team, has joined the Castle coaching staff for the 2014 season. Coach King will be leading Castle’s Boys’ 11th Grade team through its very competitive national schedule.

Coach King has over 30 years of coaching experience on both the scholastic level and AAU circuit. He has been head coach of Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, NY and NIA Prep in Newark, NJ, leading NIA to Top 10 National Rankings in 2009-2011. He has coached former collegiate and professional players such as Doron Lamb, Devin Eubanks, JayVaughn Pinkston, Branden Frazier, Lance Stephenson and Kenny Anderson.

Brian Rosen, President of Castle Athletics, said that “having Rudy join our coaching ranks is a tremendous achievement and benefit for our players. He shares the Castle goal of promoting education and growth of our players, core ingredients for developing young adults. We could not be more thrilled.”

Coach King will be assisted by Marcus Matthews, also an Assistant Coach for Monsignor Scanlan. Coach Matthews was an All-City First Team selection for Bishop Loughlin High School and played collegiately for Maine Central Institute and Southern New Hampshire University.
