Castle Announces Junior Program and Girls Side
announced September 12, 2013
Castle Athletics will be expanding its programming and athletic development to include a Junior Program (Grades 2-7) and a Girls’ Middle and High School Program (Grades 8-10). This past year, Castle sponsored Boys basketball teams for players in 8th, 9th and 10th Grades. Each team had an extremely successful 2013 campaign, winning multiple tournaments, qualifying for national competitions and culminating with the 9th and 10th Grade teams traveling to Las Vegas to play in the Adidas Super 64 tournament. Both teams showed very well, making to the Championship and Gold Brackets, respectively.
The Junior Program, slated to begin in the end of October, will provide educational and athletic opportunities for children in Grades 2 through 7. It will include a Saturday basketball clinic and league play preceded by an arts or educational hour. Additionally, players will be selected and afforded an opportunity to compete in tournament play throughout the winter and spring.
The Girls teams are designed to complement the existing program. An 8th Grade program will be started in November and selected players will receive educational support and compete in tournaments throughout the winter and spring. They will be joined by 9th and 10th Grade teams upon conclusion of the high school season.
Castle Athletics co-founder Brian Rosen said that “development of a full program, including after-school programming, is our ultimate goal. The inclusion of a Girls Program and the Junior Program is the logical next step to providing the educational and athletic environment necessary to assist in the development of these students.”
