announced September 6, 2017

Castle Athletics announced today that it will host a basketball clinic this Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 1:00-4:00pm, at The Salvation Army located at 540 Lenox Avenue in Harlem. The clinic will be limited to the first 75 participants that register at ghandhi.martin@gmail.com. Participants will need to register and will receive a confirmation of registration.

The clinic will be led by God Shammgod, now coaching with the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA. Shammgod played scholastically at LaSalle Academy in Manhattan (and was selected to the 1995 McDonald’s All-American Team), collegiately at Providence College, and professionally in both the NBA and the Chinese Basketball Association. Before joining the Mavs’ staff, Shammgod served on Coach Cooley’s staff at Providence. But, he will not be alone.

Joining the staff for the clinic will be Moses Brown (a senior at Archbishop Molloy HS and ranked 17 in the ESPN 100), Nazreon Reid ( a senior at Roselle Catholic HS and ranked 18 in the ESPN 100), Souleymane Koureissi ( a senior at Iona Prep HS and ranked 44 power forward in the country), and Bevon Robin, Marcus Matthews and Ghandhi Martin, all Castle coaches. Coach Robin is also the 3rd all-time leading scorer for Fordham University.

The staff will be focusing on fundamentals and team related drills.

Do not forget to register as spots will go quickly and only 75 players will be allowed in the gym.
